Parking: Although not guaranteed, this home has room for approximately two cars to be parked in front of it. Leadville’s Victorian homes were historically built quite close together in the days before the “horseless carriage.” As such, parking can sometimes be a challenge. In the winter, maintaining an open parking space can cost homeowners a significant amount of money and/or hours spent shoveling. Please take these things into consideration as you plan your trip, and be courteous to your local neighbors by trying to park directly in front of the home you have rented.
Staying in the mountains offers a unique and nature-immersed experience, characterized by a rustic charm. You might occasionally encounter some of the local wildlife, insects, and small critters that are part of the natural surroundings. We recommend keeping doors securely closed whenever possible. Rest assured, we've implemented thorough measures to ensure your stay remains undisturbed by these natural inhabitants.
Altitude sickness is real. In Leadville/ Twin Lakes, the elevation can be up to 10,000 feet. Symptoms can include dizziness and nausea, so please be mindful of this. We really enjoyed our stay in Leadville. We had plenty of space for our group, and the location cannot be beat. Otherwise highly recommend.Show more Snowshire is a fun place to stay in Leadville! This is our first time back since 2020, and we enjoyed our stay. We arrived to about 6 inches of fresh snow with more falling, and there was no shovel. There may have been one buried in the snow, but we looked as well as we could. The host responded quickly and brought a shovel the following day. We're thankful, because it snowed another 6-10 inches each day, and we really needed it to dig out! The puzzles, games, and books are fun. We appreciate the nightlights for navigating unfamiliar territory in the dark. The stairs are not exactly steep, but the tread (part you step on), is smaller than average. Adults will not be able to put their whole foot on a step. Walking up, plan to use the balls of your feet. For walking down the steps, turn out (as in ballet, rotate hips out, so toes point to the outside) or turn a little sideways. Kids with smaller feet have no issues with the stairs.Show more
